    Description

    1892 Arnold Print Works 7.5" Little Red Riding Hood Brownie Cloth Doll Vintage VHTF Antique Textile Palmer Cox. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
    This cut and sew doll, circa the 1890s, was manufactured by Arnold Printworks of Massachusetts. They sold dolls in printed sheets that could be cut out, sewn, and stuffed by the purchaser. Arnold Printworks tinted their doll sheets with oil paints that create a soft and artistic look to the dolls. This 7 ½ inch doll represents the fairy tale character “Little Red Riding Hood.” She carries a basket with goodies for her sick Grandmother. Red has her original label sewn onto her base. It indicates that the doll was patented on July 5 and October 4, 1892, and was printed in North Adams, Massachusetts by the Arnold Printworks. This seldom seen doll is in good clean condition and has been sewn together by a talented seamstress and is unstuffed.
